Wow, I was watching Oprah Primetime on Hallmark yesterday and I think it was one of her best epsiodes ever! Yesterday's episode was about Bono, the lead singer from U2, 's latest project to end the AIDS crisis in Africa. It's called '(RED)'. When the show starts, the camera shows everyone on the Oprah Winfrey set wearing red shirts with words like 'INSPI(RED)' and 'ADMI(RED)' on the front. By buying products RED, you will not only be purchasing something that looks great and fits your budget, but you will also be saving a life. All the money spent on purchasing (RED) products will be used to buy medication for the people in Africa. Gap has created this new and limited line of accessories that include jeans, t-shirts, and so on. Many Gap products are made in Africa, so in a way, Africans are paying for their own healthcare. 'It gives them a sense of dignity' said Bono. Other companies are helping out as well and it's just really cool how everyone has come together through this project.

Converse even lent a hand by combining culture and creativity in the Mudcloth sneakers as shown above. By buying a pair of converse shoes, an AIDS patient can receive enough medication to last a month. 
Model Christy Turlington is the first American to help in this project. Proceeds from her outfit would help 58 pregnant women prevent the transmission of HIV to their unborn children.
Actress Penelope Cruz is the first European to help this project. Proceeds from her jean jacket will pay for two months of anti-retroviral (ARV) treatments for one person and help 50 women prevent the transmission of HIV from mother to child.
